Lime - Cement Mortar

Lime in Building Construction

Lime has been a staple in construction for centuries due to its versatility, particularly in bricklaying, plastering, and masonry work.

Today, lime remains highly valued for its ability to retain water and its proven performance in both exterior and interior applications.

Modern construction increasingly turns to lime for its sustainability and durability.

When used in mortar and plaster, lime improves workability and enhances water retention. As it hardens,

lime absorbs carbon dioxide from the air, gradually forming limestone, which strengthens surfaces and allows for

the natural "self-healing" of small cracks. To meet specific project requirements, lime can be combined with materials

like cement or pozzolanic additives, enhancing its strength and versatility.
